The cancellation of Saturday's Ohio State-Maryland football game caused a lot of reaction on Twitter on Wednesday afternoon.

A reported outbreak of COVID-19 cases on Maryland's team led to the cancellation, which led to a lot of ideas by fans online about what Ohio State should do.

Some wanted the Buckeyes to take advantage of an open Saturday and try to schedule a game with Alabama, who also finds itself with an open date after its game with LSU was also cancelled after an outbreak among Tiger players.

Ohio State Buckeyes quarterback Justin Fields (1) runs the ball for a touchdown during the third quarter of a NCAA Division I football game between the Ohio State Buckeyes and the Nebraska Cornhuskers on Saturday, Oct. 24, 2020 at Ohio Stadium in Columbus, Ohio.

Many Ohio State fans were disappointed to miss another Saturday without seeing the team and its Heisman Trophy candidate Justin Fields, while some speculated that Maryland was trying to avoid a tough matchup with the Buckeyes.
