Michigan tops Ohio State in Big Ten field hockey championship game

Top-seeded Michigan defeated Ohio State 4-0 in the Big Ten field hockey championship game Saturday in Iowa City, Iowa.

The Buckeyes, the No. 7 seed, were in the championship game for the first time since 2008. They finished the season 7-9 after starting 0-7.

Michigan (13-2) won its 10th straight game and recorded its ninth shutout of the season. It is the Wolverines' seventh Big Ten tournament title.

Michigan outshot the Buckeyes 10-6.
