OSU women at home for NCAA tennis tournament; men go to Wake Forest

Ohio State's women's tennis team is seeded 15th in the NCAA tournament and will host first- and second-round matches this weekend.

The Big Ten champion Buckeyes (21-3) enter the NCAA Tournament on a 12-match winning streak.

Ohio State will face Illinois-Chicago at 2 p.m. Friday. Ball State takes on Vanderbilt at 11 a.m. . Attendance will be limited to pass lists for each participating team.

The first-round winners will meet at noon Saturday for a spot in the Round of 16 in Orlando, Fla.

The OSU men (20-3) are unseeded and face Virginia Commonwealth at 2 p.m. Friday in Winston-Salem, N.C. No. 10 seed Wake Forest is the host and will play South Carolina State in the other first-round match. The winners will meet at 5 p.m. Saturday.

This is the first time since 2005 that the OSU men will be on the road for the first- and second-round matches.
