Ohio State to face Oregon in football on Sept. 11 at noon on FOX

Ohio State's football home opener against Oregon will be at noon on Sept. 11.

The game will be part of Fox’s Big Noon Saturday game of the week.

It will be the first time the two teams are playing in Columbus in 33 years, since a 31-6 Ohio State victory in 1987. The teams last met in the 2015 College Football Playoff championship game, a 42-20 Ohio State win.

The Buckeyes' opener will be on Sept. 2 at Minnesota. The time for that game has not been announced. It will mark the second time in the past five seasons that Ohio State opens its season on a Thursday on the road against a conference opponent. In 2017, Ohio State defeated Indiana 49-21 on a Thursday night in Bloomington.
