Ohio State women take second place in Big Ten rowing championships
INDIANAPOLIS — Ohio State finished second behind Michigan at the Big Ten women's rowing championships on Sunday.
The Buckeyes won one race — the Second Novice Eight — and scored 158 points in the seven-race event. Michigan won the other six races and finished with 191 points. Rutgers was third with 143.
Ohio State has finished second to Michigan in two consecutive seasons after winning six straight titles.
Ohio State's Leonie Heuer was named first-team All-Big Ten. Liza Simaceva and Jessy Vermeer were named to the second team.
Next for the Buckeyes is the NCAA Championships May 28-30 in Sarasota, Florida.
Ohio State is ranked No. 7 in the nation. Michigan is No. 6 and Rutgers is No. 5.
