Defensive end Zach Harrison, left tackle Thayer Munford and wide receiver Chris Olave will represent Ohio State at Big Ten media days in Indianapolis later this week, according to an updated list of attendees.

The event is scheduled to be held on Thursday and Friday at Lucas Oil Stadium in place of the traditional location of Chicago, which has had coronavirus restrictions in place. Last year’s media days were canceled due to the pandemic.

The three Buckeyes players will join coach Ryan Day in speaking with reporters on the second day along with players and coaches from Indiana, Iowa, Michigan State, Rutgers, Purdue and Wisconsin.

Day’s initial press conference, which will be televised on the Big Ten Network, is scheduled for 12:30 p.m. on Friday.

As teams often bring along upperclassmen and potential captains, Munford and Olave are veterans with multiple seasons of starting experience and have garnered other career accolades.

Olave has been named to multiple preseason All-American teams this summer and is considered one the best top pass catchers in the country, while Munford has started for Ohio State since 2018 and is held in high regard for his pass protection. Both are seniors.

While less experienced, Harrison is a promising pass rusher who received a flurry of praise from coaches in spring practice.

Discussing the former five-star recruit after a handful of practices in March, Day said he had seen “a different look in his eye.”

In seven games over a pandemic-shortened season last fall, Harrison finished with two sacks and 4.5 tackles for loss.
