Ohio State football offensive lineman Ryan Jacoby enters NCAA transfer portal
Ohio State offensive lineman Ryan Jacoby has entered the NCAA transfer portal, The Dispatch confirmed on Monday afternoon.
He spent two seasons with the Buckeyes, but never appeared in a game, sitting behind others on the depth chart.
As part of the Buckeyes’ recruiting class for 2019, he was ranked as a four-star and considered a tackle prospect. He's also a native of Mentor.
Jacoby is the second Ohio State offensive lineman this offseason to put his name in the transfer portal, an online database that allows players to be contacted by other schools, following Max Wray, who entered the portal in April before transferring to Colorado.
His entry comes less than a week into the start of preseason training camp.
The Buckeyes remain deep along their offensive line. Factoring in Jacoby’s departure, they have 15 offensive linemen left on scholarship.
