Ohio State safety Josh Proctor carted off the field with injury
Ohio State safety Josh Proctor, one of the top returning defensive players for Ohio State, was carted off the field on Saturday against Oregon.
With the Buckeyes trailing 21-14 and the Ducks driving deep into Ohio State territory, Proctor was in on a play and failed to get up.
Shortly following the play, Ohio State allowed another touchdown as Oregon increased its lead to 28-14.
Proctor was a game-time decision for Ohio State and was given the green light to start hours before kickoff.
Proctor appeared to injure his shoulder against Minnesota and was considered a game-time decision this week.
Proctor entered the season having played in 27 games for the Buckeyes and was honorable mention All-Big Ten in 2020.
The injury appeared serious.
Ohio State secondary hurting
The Buckeyes were missing two members of their secondary against Minnesota last week in Sevyn Banks and Cameron Brown, but both returned for the Oregon game.
Without them in the first game, the Buckeyes turned to freshmen Denzel Burke and Ryan Watts to start at cornerback. Watts, who broke up three passes in the win over the Golden Gophers, graded out as a champion by the coaching staff.
