Michigan State rallies to hand Michigan its first loss; Spartans play OSU on Nov. 20

While Ohio State football prepares to play Penn State in primetime, all eyes in the Big Ten were in East Lansing, Michigan, on Saturday as a pair of undefeated teams met in the biggest game of Week 9, 

It lived up to the hype. No. 8 Michigan State rallied from 30-14 down in the second half to win 37-33. No. 6 Michigan was driving with a little more than a minute left when quarterback Cade McNamara threw an interception that sealed MSU's win.

The Spartans improve to 8-0 and stay atop of the Big Ten East division standings. 

Ohio State entered the week 6-1 and 4-0 in the conference and 2-0 against the Big Ten East.

Ohio State won’t play either team from that state up north until the last two games of the season. Michigan State travels to Columbus on Nov. 20. Michigan, which canceled the 2020 matchup against Ohio State, will host the Buckeyes at noon on FOX on Nov. 27.

Michigan State fans didn't go easy on Michigan coach Jim Harbaugh during the College GameDay broadcast Saturday. Why should they? It is a rivalry.

No. 2-ranked UC Football beats Tulane

The second-ranked team in the AP poll struggled early to Tulane, but bounced back nicely with a 19-point road win. 

The Bearcats beat the Green Wave 31-12 in New Orleans and scored 17 straight second-half points to stay undefeated. 

UC quarterback Desmond Ridder was 17 of 27 passes for 227 yards, three touchdowns and an interception. 

Cincinnati (8-0, 4-0 American Athletic Conference) returns to the Queen City on Nov. 6 to host Tulsa (3-5, 2-2). The Golden Hurricane pushed the Buckeyes in the game, but Ohio State, behind a record-setting day from TreVeyon Henderson, won 41-20. 

It'll be the second like-opponent Ohio State and UC have had in 2021. The Buckeyes and Bearcats both beat Indiana in Bloomington.

Up next for Ohio State football: The Nebraska Cornhuskers

Ohio State will travel to Nebraska on Nov. 6 to face the Cornhuskers. It will be Ohio State's fourth road game of the year and second Big Ten West of the season. Ohio State opened the season in Minneapolis with a win over Minnesota in Week 1. 

A game time for the Ohio State-Nebraska game will be announced on Sunday. 

The Buckeyes will face the Cornhuskers at noon, 3:30 p.m. or 4 p.m., according to a team spokesman. The network is to be determined.

Nebraska played Purdue on Saturday.
