Ohio State coach Kevin McGuff's Buckeyes are 6-1 on the season after Sunday's 70-53 win over Purdue.

The Ohio State women's basketball team opened Big Ten play with a road win over Purdue Sunday 70-53.

The No. 20 Buckeyes improved to 6-1 on the season thanks in part to the fact that they held the Boilermakers to 30% shooting while making 50% of their own shots. OSU was 7-for-10 in the fourth quarter.

Guards Braxtin Miller and Taylor Mikesell led Ohio State in scoring. Each had 16 points on the afternoon. Mikesell also pulled down 10 rebounds, had five assists and a steal.

Ohio State plays host to Mount St. Mary's Tuesday.
