No. 17 Ohio State routs No. 3 Michigan 6-1 in men's hockey

The 17th-ranked Ohio State men’s hockey team defeated No. 3 Michigan 6-1 on Saturday at Value City Arena.

The Buckeyes led 2-1 after two periods before scoring three goals (by Quinn Preston, Mark Cheremeta and Tate Singleton) in a 50-second span. Joe Dunlap closed out the game with a goal at 18:10. The teams combined for 99 penalty minutes in the game.

The Buckeyes outshot the Wolverines 42-26. Jakub Dobes had 25 saves for Ohio State.

“That’s a good win, against a very good hockey team," said Ohio State coach Steve Rohlik. "I thought our guys played hard start to finish. That’s what we asked out of them and they got rewarded.”
