Ohio State Buckeyes named No. 2 seed in NCAA softball regional at Tennessee
The Ohio State softball team was named the No. 2 seed in the Knoxville Regional of the NCAA Tournament. The Buckeyes will face Oregon State at 4 p.m. Friday. The other game will feature Tennessee, the No. 11 overall national seed, vs. Campbell.
It is the fifth time since 2016 that the Buckeyes have played in the NCAA Tournament.
Ohio State (35-15) lost to Nebraska 2-1 in the semifinals of the Big Ten tournament on Friday. The Buckeyes have been led by a balanced offense that features five starters who bat above .300. First team All-Big Ten honoree Niki Carver is hitting .350 with 10 home runs and 32 RBIs.
Pitcher Lexie Handley is 22-9 with a 2.44 ERA and a school single-season record 259 strikeouts in 212.0 innings.
