Ohio State's Adelaide Aquilla qualifies for world championships in shot put
Ohio State's Adelaide Aquilla finished second in the women’s shot put with a best throw of 19.45 meters at the USA Outdoor Track & Field Championships in Eugene, Oregon, on Sunday.
The finish qualified Aquilla for the world championships. Aquilla had two throws go farther than 19 meters, as 19.45m was the second-best throw of her career. Chase Ealey took first with a throw of 20.51.
Three other Buckeyes competed in the meet.

Anavia Battle finished 14th in the 200m semifinals with a time of 22.72. Jaimie Robinson took eighth in the triple jump at 13.10m. Battle finished 29th overall in the first round of the 100m (11.45).
In the men’s 400m, Tyler Johnson finished 14th with a top time of 46.02.
Battle finished sixth in her heat and 29th overall in the first round of the 100m (11.45).
