Big Ten taking its conference basketball tournaments to Minneapolis
The Big Ten is taking its conference basketball tournaments to Minneapolis.
Today, the league announced its locations through the 2023-24 seasons, and Minnesota is in the mix for the first time. In 2023, the Target Center will host the Big Ten’s women’s basketball tournament. In 2024, it will host both the men’s and women’s basketball tournaments.
The league tournaments have primarily been held in Indianapolis and Chicago, and they will return there as well. Chicago’s United Center will host the 2023 men’s tournament, while Indianapolis hosted both the men’s and women’s events for the 2021-22 season.
Minneapolis will be the fifth city to host the men's tournament. Washington D.C. hosted the 2017 event and New York City was the 2018 host. Otherwise, it has rotated between Indianapolis and Chicago.
The women’s tournament has been held in Indianapolis for the last seven seasons.
he 2024 Big Ten football championship game will again be held at Indianapolis' Lucas Oil Stadium, as it will be during the next two seasons.
