Alabama football assistants receive new contracts, raises. Here's what they will earn.

The compensation committee for the University of Alabama System Board of Trustees met Monday and approved contracts for a variety of Alabama football assistants, new and returning coaches, including Tommy Rees and Kevin Steele.

Here's a look at each of the new contracts, not including incentive bonuses. The only assistant coach contract that didn't change in this round of approvals was cornerbacks coach Travaris Robinson whose contract runs through Feb. 29, 2024.

In total, Alabama will pay its 10-man staff $9.17 million this season. That's an increase from $8.36 million a season ago. The biggest increase falls in coordinator pay for Rees and Steele.

New coaches

Tommy Rees, offensive coordinator

Base salary: $1.9 million (with an increase of $100,000 each year)

End of contract: Feb. 28, 2026

Note: Previous offensive coordinator Bill O'Brien made $1.1 million.

Kevin Steele, defensive coordinator

Base salary: $1.9 million

End of contract: Feb. 28, 2026

Note: Previous defensive coordinator Pete Golding received $1.73 million in base salary plus completion benefit.

Robert Bala, inside linebackers coach

Salary: $350,000

End of contract: Feb. 28, 2025

Returning coaches with new deals

Joe Cox, tight ends

Salary: $425,000

End of contract: Feb. 28, 2025

Note: Cox was set to earn $325,000 this season in a contract that was going to expire on Feb. 29, 2024.

Robert Gillespie, running backs

Salary: $625,000

End of contract: Feb. 28, 2025

Note: Gillespie was going to make $565,000 on a contract that expired Feb. 29, 2024. A year ago, he received one-year extension and a raise of $30,000.

Coleman Hutzler, special teams coordinator/outside linebackers

Salary: $595,000

End of contract: Feb. 28, 2025

Note: Hutzler was set to make $495,000 on a contract expiring on Feb. 29, 2024.

Freddie Roach, defensive line

Salary: $775,000

End of contract: Feb. 28, 2025

Note: Roach was set to make $750,000 on a contract expiring on Feb. 29, 2024.

Holmon Wiggins, assistant head coach of offense/wide receivers

Salary: $875,000

End of contract: Feb. 28, 2025

Note: Wiggins was set to make $850,000 on a contract expiring Feb. 29, 2024. A year ago, he received a one-year extension and a raise of $275,000.

Eric Wolford, offensive line

Salary: $925,000

End of contract: Feb. 28, 2025

Note: Wolford, in his second season, was set to make $900,000 on a deal expiring Feb. 29, 2024.
