Reports: Jeff Brohm, Vince Tyra met to discuss Louisville job
Purdue football coach Jeff Brohm and Louisville athletic director Vince Tyra met Tuesday to discuss Louisville's head coach opening, according to a report from ESPN.com.
The report, citing a source, said that Brohm will have a final decision for Louisville on Wednesday. 247sports.com first reported the meeting.
Brohm grew up in Louisville, played quarterback at Louisville and served as an assistant coach at Louisville, making him the favored choice to replace Bobby Petrino as the school's head coach. He's in his second season at Purdue, where he's 13-12 and heading to his second straight bowl game at a school that had gone the previous four seasons without a bowl berth.
Brohm is making $3.8 million at Purdue this season and due to make $3.9 million this year. Louisville will owe $5 million if it hires Brohm away before Dec. 5 and $3.9 million if it does so between Dec. 5-31.
