College coaches from around the country have Indiana circled — and for good reason. Year in, year out, the Hoosier State produces loads of Division I talent.

Here are Indiana's top 2021 prospects, according to IndyStar Preps Insider Kyle Neddenriep.

► 2019: Trayce Jackson-Davis heads the class

► 2020: Check out the top 15 juniors in the state

Prospect rankings are based on potential as college players, not necessarily on high school achievements:

1. Caleb Furst, Fort Wayne Blackhawk: The 6-9 Furst made a big impression as a freshman, averaging 14 points and almost seven rebounds per game. Blackhawk was ranked No. 1 in Class A and finished 26-3 after it was upset by Southwood in the semistate. Butler and Purdue have offered.

Brownsburg's Pierce Thomas (left)

2. Pierce Thomas, Brownsburg: The 6-5 Thomas put together a strong freshman season, averaging 9.2 points, 3.0 rebounds and 2.3 assists per game for a 20-win Class 4A program. Thomas, who finished third in the state in the long jump, has interest from high-major programs.

Lawrence North Wildcats' DJ Hughes (right)

3. D.J. Hughes, Lawrence North: The 6-6 Hughes is only going to get better. He showed toughness and a motor as a freshman at Lawrence North, averaging 8.9 points and 8.1 rebounds. High-major programs have been in to see Hughes and will continue to track him.

Marion's Jalen Blackmon (0)

4. Jalen Blackmon, Marion: The 6-1 Blackmon put up big numbers (he is a Blackmon, after all) as a freshman. Blackmon averaged 22.3 points, 3.4 assists and 3.4 rebounds per game and shot 39 percent (103-for-266) from the 3-point line.

Reitz's Khristian Lander

5. Khristian Lander, Evansville Reitz: The 6-foot left-hander made an impression as a freshman point guard at Reitz. He already has an offer from IUPUI and has interest from a number of high-major programs.

Five more names to watch in 2021 class: Curt Hopf, Forest Park; Chrishawn Christmas, Gary West Side; Brett Bosley, Paoli; Colson Montgomery, Southridge; Jayden Taylor, Perry Meridian.
