Alex Faedo etched his name in history Wednesday afternoon.

Faedo, the No. 18 overall pick by the Detroit Tigers in the 2017 MLB draft, combined with reliever Drew Carlton to throw a no-hitter for the Double-A Erie SeaWolves in a 4-0 win over Bowie at UPMC Park in Erie, Pennsylvania.

Faedo, 23, threw seven innings, walking one and striking out five against the Baltimore Orioles affiliate. He threw 58 of his 90 pitches for strikes and allowed three baserunners.

"It was a great game and a really special moment for the whole team," Faedo said, according to GoErie.com. "I’m proud of Drew for coming in and getting the last six outs. I was really nervous for him."

It was a bounce-back start for Faedo, who allowed seven runs on nine hits over four innings on April 18. It was Erie's first no-hitter since Aug. 22, 2009, and the club's first combined no-no.

Faedo entered the season as the Tigers' No. 13 prospect according to the Free Press' Anthony Fenech, after his fastball velocity dipped last season.

The right-hander is 1-1 with a 3.52 ERA in four starts this season. He has allowed 16 hits and five home runs in 23 innings, striking out 26 and walking two.

He took a shaving cream pie to the face during his postgame interview.
