The Detroit Tigers placed five more players on the 10-day injured list on Thursday evening: shortstop Sergio Alcantara, outfielder Daz Cameron, right-hander Alex Faedo, third baseman Isaac Paredes and lefty Tarik Skubal.

The team did not specify injuries for any of the players. MLB teams don't have to disclose reasoning for the injury list until July 20.

On Wednesday, Tigers general manager Al Avila announced that the team had individuals test positive for the coronavirus. That night, the team placed lefty Daniel Norris on the IL.

On Thursday, Norris said that he had tested positive for the coronavirus.

"We’ve had individuals that tested positive for COVID-19, and who were isolated, retested, and passed the protocols to permit them to resume baseball activities." Avila said in a statement Wednesday. "Those individuals that are currently positive are being closely monitored by our medical staff and we hope to have them back on the field soon.

“Pursuant to federal law and the MLB/PA Basic Agreement, our club will refrain from identifying players who are unable to participate in workouts due to non-work related injuries.”

Outfielder Victor Reyes, who was among the team’s seven holdouts from the first week of camp, arrived and participated in baseball activities Thursday afternoon. Reyes’ absence was believed to be because of the birth of a child.
