New York Jets star Garrett Wilson takes home NFL Rookie of the Week award

Garrett Wilson is already earning hardware two weeks into his NFL career.

The former Ohio State first-round pick and current New York Jets wide receiver took home NFL Rookie of the Week honors after securing his first two professional touchdowns on the road against the Cleveland Browns.

In the Jets' 31-30 on the road against the Browns, Wilson recorded eight catches on 14 targets, leading the team with 102 receiving yards and two touchdowns: a two-yard pass from Joe Flacco for his first career score and a 15-yard pass from Flacco with 22 seconds left in the game to secure the victory.

Wilson was a finalist for NFL Rookie of the Week along with Washington Commanders WR Jahan Dotson, Detroit Lions DE Aidan Hutchinson, Kansas City Chiefs cornerback Jaylen Watson, Los Angeles Rams cornerback Cobie Durant and Atlanta Falcons wide receiver Drake London.

Through two games, Wilson has 12 catches on 22 targets for 154 receiving yards and two touchdowns.

Wilson is currently a top-20 receiver in the NFL, sitting at No. 17 ahead of Las Vegas Raiders WR Davante Adams, New England Patriots WR Jakobi Meyers and Philadelphia Eagles TE Dallas Goedert in receiving yards.

Wilson has the second-most of any rookie wide receiver behind London, who has 160 receiving yards and a touchdown on 13 catches.

The former Ohio State wide receiver was selected with the No. 10 overall pick in the 2022 NFL draft after recording 143 catches for 2,213 receiving yards and 23 touchdowns across three seasons with the Buckeyes.
