BEREA − The Browns offensive line received a lift on Thursday when right guard Wyatt Teller returned to practice.

Teller had been working with trainers during the first two practices of the week. The Browns will have an extended Labor Day weekend break starting Friday before returning for game week leading into the Sept. 11 opener at the Carolina Panthers.

Teller suffered an injury to his left knee during the Browns' preseason finale against the Chicago Bears last Saturday. He did not return to the game.

Coach Kevin Stefanski said after the game Teller being held out was "precautionary."

Myles Garrett, Perrion Winfrey absent from Browns practice

The only two players not present for Thursday's final practice of the week were defensive end Myles Garrett and defensive tackle Perrion Winfrey.

Per Stefanski, Garrett was an excused absence for personal reasons. Winfrey, meanwhile, was out due to illness.

Jadeveon Clowney once again not practicing

Defensive end Jadeveon Clowney was off to the side during practice. Clowney has not practiced since the second joint practice against the Philadelphia Eagles Aug. 19, when he appeared to hurt his hand while batting down a Jalen Hurts pass.

Clowney did not practice in any of the three practices last week, although Stefanski said that was due to "rest." He also did not play in any of the Browns' three preseason games.

Cornerback A.J. Green (hip), safety Ronnie Harrison Jr. (hamstring) and offensive lineman Chris Hubbard (rest) also were off to the side Thursday.

Josh Rosen, Isaac Rochell brought back to practice squad

The Browns added two more players they had cut over the previous two days to their practice squad. Quarterback Josh Rosen and defensive end Isaac Rochell were added on Thursday morning, raising the total on their practice squad to 14.

Rosen and Rochell give the Browns their maximum of two veterans for the squad. Rosen is in his fifth season, Rochell is in his sixth.

Rosen was cut by the Browns on Tuesday. Rochell was waived on Wednesday after they claimed quarterback Kellen Mond from the Minnesota Vikings.

Rosen gives the Browns five quarterbacks, including Jacoby Brissett, Joshua Dobbs and Mond on the active roster and Deshaun Watson on the suspended list.

“Josh gave us some good reps," Stefanski said. "There were some really good moments in those games and some really good moments out here on the [practice] field. He is still learning. This was new to him a few weeks back. He has come a long way because he is a very, very smart quarterback, but he is still growing.”

The Browns still have two potential spots on the practice squad available. Those spots must go to players with two years or less of experience.
