Ohio State women's basketball | Sierra Calhoun transfers to Rutgers
Former Ohio State guard Sierra Calhoun has found a new home as a graduate transfer.
The Brooklyn native will play out her final year of eligibility at Rutgers, the school announced Tuesday.
Calhoun initially informed Ohio State’s coaching staff following the 2017-18 season that she intended to stay at Ohio State for her final year but was later granted her release.
After sitting out the 2015-16 season following her transfer from Duke, Calhoun was a regular starter in her two seasons at Ohio State. She averaged 9.5 points and 3.4 rebounds in 2017-18 for a Buckeyes team that reached the Sweet 16 before losing to Notre Dame.

Calhoun increased her scoring average to 11.6 in a 2017-18 season in which she again started all 35 of Ohio State’s games. She also added 3.8 rebounds per game and shot 35.8 percent from three-point range.
Calhoun’s departure and the graduation of five seniors means Makayla Waterman is the team’s only returning player who played regular minutes last season. Also returning are junior Jensen Caretti, who will likely see a jump in play time, as well as Karlie Cronin and Savitha Jayaraman, who joined the team as walk-ons last year.
The Buckeyes will feature nine new players for the 2018-19 season, including four freshmen and five graduate transfers.
