Pickerington Central's Greene commits to OSU

Madison Greene, who led Pickerington Central to a state title and a runner-up finish in her final two seasons, has joined the highly touted recruiting class at Ohio State.
Greene, a 5-foot-8 point guard, had signed with Penn State but was granted a release from her scholarship when coach Coquese Washington was fired March 8 and replaced by Carolyn Kieger of Marquette.
On her Twitter account, Greene said she had committed to Ohio State and planned to sign soon.
Ranked No. 61 by ESPN Hoopgurlz, Greene joins a class that now features five players ranked in the top 65. The class, ranked No. 3 by ESPN, also includes two international prospects and a graduate transfer from Oklahoma State. The group includes two-time Ohio Ms. Basketball Kierstan Bell of Canton McKinley and Jacy Sheldon of Dublin Coffman.
"I'm extremely excited to welcome Madison to the OSU family," coach Kevin McGuff said. "She has a tremendous work ethic and great competitive character. Her ability to make those around her better is what makes her a terrific addition to our program."
Ohio State is coming off a 14-15 season.
Greene averaged 16 points, 5.8 assists and 5.6 rebounds last season in helping Pickerington Central to a No. 1 ranking. She led the Tigers to a 101-13 record during her four seasons, making the Dispatch All-Metro team and first-team All-Ohio in 2018 and 2019.
