Ohio State’s Dorka Juhasz named to all-Big Ten first team

Sophomore Dorka Juhasz, who led the Ohio State women’s basketball team in scoring and rebounds, was named first-team all-Big Ten by the league’s coaches and media.

A 6-foot-4 forward from Pecs, Hungary, Juhasz averaged 13.3 points and 9.3 rebounds to help the Buckeyes (18-11, 11-7) to a fifth-place finish in the conference.

She was fourth in the Big Ten with eight double-doubles on the season, including all four games to end the regular season.

Also, Kierstan Bell was named to the five-player all-freshmen team and was named honorable mention all-conference. She averaged 11.1 points, third among Big Ten freshmen.

Senior Kathleen Doyle was named Big Ten player of the year after averaging 18.2 points, 4.7 rebounds and 6.3 assists for Iowa.

Joe McKeown of co-champion Northwestern was named coach of the year and Maryland guard Ashley Owusu was freshman of the year.
